So this may be old news to others, but I just caught the Iron Man trailer and frankly -- it rocks!
So happy that they went with Robert Downey Jr. rather than nut-bag, under-talented Tom Cruise. Downey gives Tony Stark just the hip edge that might make this a pretty cool pic.
Here's the latest, at least as far as I know, pic of the Iron Man suit. It looks pretty cool also. Click the image to check out the trailer.

Yeah, I know it's early, but I wanted to show off my new Rays gizmo for the blog. [pat, pat]
Anyway, my boy Jonny Gomes got a much overdue raise to $1.275 million per. Nice. Also nice to see the Rays not toss away another productive fan favorite.
And it looks like they're making every attempt to piss off co-number one starter Scott Kazmir by dogging him in negotiations. Honestly, it's not like there's a salary cap here to worry about, just pay the kid what he's worth. jeez
And we've picked up another utility player. Don't we already have a team full of them? How about getting some premium starter type players? Might win a few more games that way.

Let me get this straight:
Now "they" are saying Britney has multiple personalities?
Apparently unnamed sources (I love those, too!) have said that when Britney's doing the horrible British accent, she's not just acting like a fool, she's actually in another complete personality. Yeah.
And here's the best part -- she doesn't have any recollection of what happens when she's "British Britney." How convenient! 'Cause apparently that's been who keeps skipping all these court dates.
Yeah, I'm totally believing that. Uh huh.
And there is supposed to be a bunch of alternate personalities: weepy Britney, diva Britney, incoherent Britney, and so on.
I'm guessing the others are: forgot my panties Britney, shopping naked Britney, wearing dirty clothes Britney, running over cops Britney, sleeping with random guys Britney, and many more (my nod to K-Tel, which is her talent level).
What a crock! I wonder if Dr. Phil had anything to do with this? I do suspect the girl is having a breakdown, a legitimate breakdown brought on by the stress of her life unraveling. But I'm going to lay the blame for that at her mother's feet again.
Bad parenting combined with money and power -- it's a recipe for disaster, and we're watching it unfold in real time. Might be a good thing her kids are too young to understand what's going on right now.

This just in:
Canadian faux-punk singer Avril Lavigne is no longer being sued for copyright infringement. |
 |
|
Aparently the fuss was over her song "Girlfriend," and that it's chorus was suspiciously
like a ten year old song by another team of songwriters.
Well, aparently the lads have decided that Avril just happened to use a common set of lyrics in a typical
style and there was nothing sneaky going on.
Lovely.
You don't suppose a little money changed hands anywhere near this, do you?

Did you see those headlines about the rappers being named in the baseball steroid scandal? What a riot? I never knew rapping was so strenuous that performers needed to amp themselves up to perform at a high level.
heh heh
But seriously, who cares? Other than the illegality of purchasing them without a prescription, who gives a damn if Timbaland is juicing? Not me. It's like that big hoohah when they caught Stallone with steroids. Yeah, so? Think a guy pushing 60 can get that Rambo look without help? And who cares how he does it?
I think we're getting a tad high and mighty about this stuff.
You know, a couple of years ago, on HBO's Real Sports they did a story on steroids. Lots of interesting revelations in it -- Lyle Alzado's doctor admitting that steroids had nothing to do with his death. The head US gov't guy (not the Surgeon Gen, maybe at the FDA?) who said, on camera, that there was no imperical data to suggest that steroids were "bad" for you, he just doesn't think people should take them. Huh? Dictatorship, anyone?
Then an interview with a couple of guys in their 50's, who had been taking steroids for 30+ years. Perfectly healthy, no shrunken testicles, not bald, just two guys who used small doses to augment their workouts. Hmmm
Not surprisingly, that show never got repeated. And you would think it would have with the Mitchell report and all. You know, both sides of the story and all that. Sadly, that story is probably lost down the rabbit hole of political correctness and sportswriter meglomania.
Ever notice how we're losing the right to make our own decisions about practically everything? Just saying . . .
