Here's my thing
Monday February 11, 2008
So I've been having trouble with Outlook Express recently. To be more precise, I've been having trouble with Norton's opscan exec program in one of my e-mail identites.
Just one.
Out of four. Go figure.
Which I did. I figured the problem might be with my registry. So I downloaded a registry scan and repair tool and ran it.
Over 3100 errors! Yikes!
See this falls in line with what I blogged yesterday. These 'puters are doing way too much. There's millions of lines of code which leads to millions of possible errors. When you stop and think of it, it's amazing these things run at all. Quite a testament to the programmers and techies who work all this stuff out.
No basic point here, still just sort of amazed at all them errors.

I've been locked out of my blog for a week now.
Apparently my computer did something between last saturday at 5:00pm and sunday morning at 11:00am when I went to do a bit before the Super Bowl.
Couldn't log in, couldn't do anything. I pestered the crap out of the folks here at Blogstream before I finally tried restoring my computer to an earlier point. Now it's okay.
I guess.
Sometimes I yearn for the days when we used to write our own code, and set up our own systems. Before computers tried to guess what we wanted and changed things without asking. I know they are trying to make 'puters accessible to everyone. Make them idiot proof. But jeez.
My directories (folders) keep changing views -- from slideshow to thumbnails to icons, I'm constantly putting things back the way I want them. The programs I use most -- photoshop, notepad, ftp, keep moving to different places. groan
When you set your computer up, there ought to be a checkbox, that says don't change sh*t without asking!
Guess it's just my age showing.

This is one of the most shameless, anti-american things I've seen in all my life. And I grew up in the 60s and 70s amid the original anti-war protests.
The Code Pink communists are attempting to shut down the Marine recruiting station in Berkeley, CA., that hot bed of rational thinking from the acid dropping days.
If you missed it earlier this year, these scumbags defaced the office, scrawling (and misspelling) various slanders against the proudest branch of our military.
Here is a reprint of their reccomendation they have put before the city council:
From: Peace and Justice Commission
Recommendation:
1. Direct the City Attorney to investigate and report back to Council within 60 days on City options for enforcing Chapter 13.28 of the Berkeley Municipal Code, prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, with respect to military recruiting offices in Berkeley;
2. Direct the City Manager to send letters to the Marine Corps Recruiting Station at 64 Shattuck Avenue and to General James T. Conway, Commandant of the United States Marine Corps, advising them that the Marine recruiting office is not welcome in our city, and if recruiters choose to stay, they do so as uninvited and unwelcome intruders;
3. Encourage all people to avoid cooperation with the Marine Corps recruiting station, and applaud residents and organizations such as Code Pink, that may volunteer to impede, passively or actively, by nonviolent means, the work of any military recruiting office located in the City of Berkeley.
Apparently things like free speech only apply to activist scum like Code Pink and their leftist jerk allies.

So this may be old news to others, but I just caught the Iron Man trailer and frankly -- it rocks!
So happy that they went with Robert Downey Jr. rather than nut-bag, under-talented Tom Cruise. Downey gives Tony Stark just the hip edge that might make this a pretty cool pic.
Here's the latest, at least as far as I know, pic of the Iron Man suit. It looks pretty cool also. Click the image to check out the trailer.

Yeah, I know it's early, but I wanted to show off my new Rays gizmo for the blog. [pat, pat]
Anyway, my boy Jonny Gomes got a much overdue raise to $1.275 million per. Nice. Also nice to see the Rays not toss away another productive fan favorite.
And it looks like they're making every attempt to piss off co-number one starter Scott Kazmir by dogging him in negotiations. Honestly, it's not like there's a salary cap here to worry about, just pay the kid what he's worth. jeez
And we've picked up another utility player. Don't we already have a team full of them? How about getting some premium starter type players? Might win a few more games that way.
